Presentation about the Services of Network Associations for the Implementation of Alternative Sentence Project in Albania

In 15.11.2010 in Aleks Luarasi University was developed e presentation in the framework of Alternative Sentence Project. This presentation was held as a result of the collaboration of the Academic Research Department of this University and the Partnership Associations.
As agenda indicated, the activity started with the presentation of the Executive Director, Mr. Genci Mucollari. In his presentation he made clear for the students the purpose, the main objectives and the importance in different aspects that has the implementation of this project. He continued with the presentation of the specific programs of the network associations and their capacity in the implementation of the Alternative Sentence Project. 
Mr. Mucollari underlined too the great effectiveness that has the collaboration with the Probation Service in the framework of the Memorandum signed on this purpose.
Finally, he emphasized the fact that the community should give its contribution and support in the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders with particular needs and problems.
The presentation continued with the representative of Probation Service Office in Tirana, Mr. Sajmir Shyti. In his word he explained the main reasons of the creation of Probation Service Institution, its legislation, the structure, organization, its branches in the main cities of Albania, the basic principles of its activity and the main functions and competences.
Also he highlighted the great importance that has the collaboration signed on this purpose with the Network Associations in the framework of the Memorandum signed in order to achieve better results in the implementation of Alternative Sentence Project and he showed up the advantages that Alternative Sentence has toward imprisonment.
His presentation ended with the concrete examples of Probation Service function and structure in other European countries, as Germany, Austria etc.
